Letter to Parents 6th May 2014

Parents/Guardians,

I have a few reminders and messages of thanks to pass on to you today.

Crosshaven 8Km Road Race:
As you are all aware, we organised a road race in aid of the school last Wednesday evening.  The event’s success levels directly relate to the massive amount of  goodwill we received from the entire school and local community.   We raised just over €2,000 after start up costs.  I’m certain that this event is also a direct contribution from the school to the Crosshaven area and hopefully it will continue into the future, building its success levels year-on-year.    There was a huge effot put in by a number of individuals (stewarding, baking, registering athletes, catering, taking results) and I am sincerely grateful for their time, patience and energy.

Open Day in Crosshaven Coast Guard Station:
Our Parent’s Association has organised another community event in aid of the school.  The prooceeds of this event a well as the children’s sponsored walk last weeek will go directly towards developng a school garden at the side of our school.  Our fun filled Family Day at the Irish Coast Guard Station in Crosshaven, is on SUNDAY 18th May from 2pm-4pm.  See the excellent work done by this voluntary organisation in their State of the Art premises.  The Crosshaven station is the busiest unit in the southern sector with about 38 call outs per year.  Enjoy face painting, home baked cakes, freshly brewed tea & coffee and an informative talk from the Irish Coast Guard about "Safety on Water".  We will also have a colouring competition on the day with some fantastic prizes.  €5 per adult and Children are FREE (Children must be accompanied by an adult).  All proceeds raised go to Scoil Bhríde Primary School in Crosshaven.   Volunteer can ring Lorraine at (087) 2377654

Our 5th/6th classes have been working incredibly hard on their upcoming musical which will take place on Wednesday 21st and Thursday 22nd May.  Tickets will be available to everyone to purchase.

Book Sale:
Our annual Book Sale will take place on WEDNESDAY 11th June.  Please note that we are hoping to distribute book lists next week.  Uniforms will be ready for collection that day as well!
