Senior Infant's "Texture Hunt"

Senior Infants went on a hunt around Scoil Bhríde, looking for different textures. The girls examined different items firstly by touch and then took a rubbing using wax crayons. They found lots of different textures and had so much fun too!

I wonder what interesting textures you could find at home!

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Crosshaven 8km Road Race (www.crosshaven8km.com)

I want to formally announce that this year’s race will take place on WEDNESDAY 25^th April.  Please spread the word and if anyone needs posters for your workplace, we will be more than happy to supply them for you.  There is an online registration facility added to the website this year while we will also accept entry on the night.

Recorder Fees

As per the schedule, please send in the recorder fees as soon as you can and the cost is €20 per child.  We will be hosting a “Musical Evening” on the week commencing Monday 23^rd March to illustrate the children’s work.

Scoil Bhríde Uniforms

I noted at the Parents’ Association AGM last October that the general feeling amongst those who attended, were in favour of purchasing school uniforms from a shop rather than the current system.  So with this in mind I have organised from July 1^st that all our uniform items can be purchased from “4orm” which is based in Carrigaline Industrial Estate.  We will trial this idea for the next three years.  This will mean that at any time during the year, you will be able to call to the shop and purchase your items. 

What I intend to do with a view to easing the transition, is distribute order forms at the end of April/start of May, gather them and pass them directly to “4orm”.  You will then be in a position to collect your items from 1^st  July as well as paying for them directly in the shop.  

Uniform Sale

Following on from the previous point above, we have a selection of stock here in school which we would like to offer to parents at a reduced rate.  Please turn over to see the list and prices.  I also have a very small number of 2015 calendars for sale, so I am offering  a special rate of 2 calendars for €10.

 

Parents Association

As mentioned in my last letter, we are looking for a few volunteers.  Thanks to those who have already come forward, it is greatly appreciated.

Health Promoting School

The past three weeks have been very busy between Zumba classes, Indoor Camogie, Smoothy tasting and Basketball.  I’m delighted with how the staff/children have embraced these activites and especially want to thank our teachers for their continued support.
