Parents/Guardians,
Agreed Minutes from the Board of Management Meeting
25-09-2013:
Ø The Board
of Management wish to formally thank our Parent’s Association and particularly
the Piper Family for organising the “Day at the Merries”. It was a tremendous success as well as a
fantastic representation of all the best qualities of our entire school
community.
Ø Crosshaven
RFC were thanked as at short notice they changed their ‘open day’ so that it
would not clash with our merries fundraiser.
This gesture was deeply appreciated.
Ø The school
budget for the coming academic year was discussed and once more it was
agreed that our finances will take
careful management. It is hoped that schools
will not face any further cuts in this month’s budget.
Ø The members
want to thank our cleaning staff and caretaker for their dedicaton over the
summer months. Our school must be one of
the most presentable in the county. Noel
and Jerry who look after the church and convent also help at various
times. Their work is often unseen
however it is genuinely appreciated.
Ø The board
received a report from our School Principal that local traffic measures are
working well at present. Everyone deserves great credit for this as
well as hoping this will continue for the rest of the year.
Playground Fundraising Raffle
Over the
next few days we are are hoping to sell €2 raffle tickets here in school for a
fantastic hamper which has been so generously donated to us. Please support this if you can, with all
money raised going to the local “Playground Fundraising Appeal”. There is a picture of the hamper on our
website.
Trip to Dublin last Sunday:
I want to thank all my teaching staff who gave up their day
to take over 90 children to Croke Park last Sunday. This type of dedication to our school is
typical of what I see everyday and I for one deeply appreciate it. The children’s behaviour was exceptional last
Sunday and they were a credit to both our community and their families. Finally congratulations to Ms. Murphy! Her achievements are almost unparalled in
sport and she is a tremendous role model for all 191 pupils of our school.
